In celebration of Manufacturing Day, ME Elecmetal will open its doors to our employees, customers, suppliers, and the communities we serve to educate the public on the importance of the manufacturing industry and to encourage next-generation workers to explore careers in manufacturing. ME Elecmetal’s Manufacturing Day events will take place on October 7, 2023, at each of the company’s United States foundry locations — Duluth, Minnesota and Tempe, Arizona from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Manufacturing Day is an annual national event executed at the local level supported by thousands of manufacturers as they host students, teachers, parents, job seekers and other local community members at open houses, plant tours and presentations designed to highlight modern manufacturing technology and careers.
These family friendly events will include public tours of ME Elecmetal’s facilities and metal casting demonstrations. ME Elecmetal’s goal is to educate the public on the importance of the metal casting industry to both our communities and the U.S. economy. We also want to show younger workers that metal casting is a rewarding career path.
U.S. metal casting, comprised of foundries and die casters, is a technology-driven industry that offers secure, good-paying jobs. In the coming decade, it is estimated that 4.6 million U.S. manufacturing jobs will need to be filled. Metal casting will be a sizable portion of those jobs as castings are used in every industry sector from Aerospace to Agriculture to Automotive and beyond. Participation in Manufacturing Day is a way for ME Elecmetal to share with local communities and students the crucial role manufacturing serves in the economy.
